Michigan's Premier Diver Duck Destination

Lake St. Clair sits on the Michigan-Ontario border and is one of the top diver duck destinations in the Great Lakes region. After the Saginaw Bay sea duck season wraps, we move our layout boats to St. Clair for the late-season diver push. Expect big rafts of canvasbacks, redheads, and bluebills working the open water.

Season: November 27 – December 14 · Layout Boat Hunting · No Lodging Included

What's Included

Layout Boat

Low-profile layout boat keeps you at water level for the most realistic presentation to incoming divers.

Full Decoy Spread

Large diver-specific decoy spread — canvasback, redhead, and bluebill blocks — set to pull birds from a distance.

Tender Boat

Tender boat handles retrieves, keeps you comfortable between flights, and gets you back to the launch quickly.

Experienced Guide

Your guide knows St. Clair's diver patterns, migration timing, and the best water to set up on each day.

Full Hunt Day

Hunt from first light through the morning flight. We stay until the birds stop moving or limits are filled.

Bird Cleaning

We'll clean and bag your birds at the end of the hunt so you're ready for the drive home.

Target Species

Lake St. Clair's late-season diver migration is one of the most reliable in the Midwest. These are the birds you'll be hunting.

Canvasback

The king of diver ducks. Canvasbacks stage on St. Clair in big numbers during the late-season push and decoy aggressively to a well-set spread.

Redhead

Redheads travel in tight flocks and work decoys hard. St. Clair is one of the best redhead lakes in Michigan during November and December.

Bluebill (Scaup)

Greater and lesser scaup — bluebills — move through St. Clair in massive rafts. Fast, decoying birds that make for exciting shooting.

Bufflehead

Buffleheads are a bonus species on St. Clair. Small and quick, they add variety to the bag and are often the first birds to work the spread.
